Imagine a dream cafe house of yours, Chidori is exactly like a classic dream cafe house. With the welcome greet of a lovely japanese manner, the sound of footsteps on the hard wood floor, the slow female jazz playing in the air and a perfect side window seats... just lovely ^^
The food there is Japanese home style and the chef is a japanese importer of fresh seafood from Shizuoka, Japan (静岡市). First, we ordered the dessert, ya, a dessert before meal, lol. It's made of cheese, Adzuki (read bean) and maccha. It was delicious! I was enjoying every moment of every teaspoon of it dissolving in my mouth... It's a "today special" kind of dessert which they doesn't make much and doesn't named it yet =)
Oh yea... forget to introduce the "blogger assistant" of today, haha. Hanna. I was with her during the trip to Aloka foundation, that's why I used "we" above. She was so in awe to discover this cafe too, can see that when she gobble up the dessert. =)
And the food is great there, with the normal japanese cuisine price, it was totally worth the cost. The Deep Fried Chicken Japanese Style is awesome! the chicken was juicy and all, even the side dish salad also nice. The cup steam egg is warm and smooth, you can just feel it slide down your throat. And the omelet rice is nice too. The rice inside the egg wrap is rice fried with tomato, you can taste the nice sweet smell of tomato in the reddish rice.

Last but not least, the decoration. I was really in awe and impressed with the decoration and the effect of making it so lovely as a dream cafe house or in japanese style to hit you with the warm feeling of overall Japanese cafe house concept. Books, origami, craft works, photos and the illustration art book from japan... Here are all the rest of the photos in the cafe.
The food they cook here is Japanese home-style and the owner and chef is a direct importer of fresh seafood from Japan, particularly from Shizuoka. Her speech, looks and mannerisms mimics a lovely japanese lady which led us to think that she was japanese until our inquisitive noses sniffed deeper. We found out she is a local person named Lavender who has spent a good part of her life studying, working and settling down in Tokyo. After many years of working for others, she started up a japanese seafood trading business here. Gaining confidence from that venture, she set her mind on turning her dream into reality, that is to open the doors of Cafe Chidori to japanese food lovers.
